What Karaj stores, and why
Version 2026-07-28 // Effective: 28 July 2026
This policy explains what information Karaj collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It covers workshop owners and staff who use Karaj, and the customer records workshops keep in it.
Account details: your name, phone number, username, chosen language, and a securely hashed password (we never store the password itself).
Workshop details: garage name, address, tax registration, country, and currency.
Customer records your workshop enters: customer names and phone numbers, vehicles and plate numbers, job and service history, estimates, invoices, payments, and feedback.
Messages: WhatsApp messages sent and received through your connected number, kept so your team can see the conversation history.
Technical data: basic operational logs and, if you enable notifications, device tokens used to deliver them.
To run the service: the job board, check-ins, estimates, invoices, bookings, service reminders, payment links, and WhatsApp updates.
To keep the platform secure, prevent abuse, fix problems, and improve how Karaj works.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your customers' contact details to market to them.
Workshops decide what customer information to enter, and they remain responsible for it. Karaj processes that information on the workshop's behalf to provide the service.
If you are a workshop customer and want your information corrected or deleted, contact your workshop — we give workshops the tools to do this, and we assist where needed.
We share data only with the service providers needed to run Karaj — hosting and database infrastructure, payment processors for payment links and subscriptions, WhatsApp for message transport, and notification delivery services. They may only use the data to provide their service to us.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety and integrity of the platform. We never sell it.
Your data is kept while your account is active so your workshop's history stays available. Some operational logs are kept only for a limited period — for example, older WhatsApp chat logs may be removed automatically.
If you close your account, you can ask us to delete your garage's data; residual copies in backups are purged on a routine schedule.
Passwords are stored hashed, connections are encrypted in transit, and each workshop's data is isolated so staff only see their own garage. No online service can promise perfect security, so use a strong password and remove staff accounts you no longer need.
Depending on the laws of your country, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. To exercise them, contact the Karaj team through the in-app support channel — workshop customers should start with their workshop, and we will support the request.
Karaj is a business tool for workshops and is not directed at children.
We may update this policy from time to time. The version and effective date appear at the top of this page, and significant changes will be announced in the app.
